Are these safe? Can I use them on my kids? What will happen if I apply them on my skin?

If you have been asking one of these questions, then you must be wondering are essential oils safe?

Well, as you already know from this post, essential oils are very highly aromatic oils derived from plants, and in addition, they are also very potent. It is important to know how to use them correctly and safely!

You need to know that essential oils has been safely used on children & adults for centuries, however, here are some safety tips on using these amazing oils:

  • I would always recommend to start low & go slow. Start with 1 drop & you can always add drops whether when they are being used topically, aromatically, or internally*.
  • Know your ‘hot’ oils. For example, Peppermint feels great as part of a post-workout massage, but without proper dilution, the sensation can be very intense. Some might irritate your skin, so make sure you dilute dilute dilute!
  • Always read the label directions on your bottle, they’re there for a reason.
  • Do not put essential oils in your (or anyone’s!) eyes, ears, nose, or other areas with sensitive skin.

In conclusion, it is always good to know how to properly use essential oils to fully enjoy their benefits for the whole family!

*Internal use is with Young Living’s Vitality line available in the U.S.
