Sayf Khaleel – 8 Months Progress Report & Raya Updates

Assalamu’alaikum. Hellloouuu !
Selamat Hari Rayaaaaa !
I know am 2 weeks overdue but hey better late than never, huh ? Hee.

I hope your Ramadhan & Syawal has been splendid. πŸ™‚
I was really nervous about fasting this year as I was still exclusively breastfeeding Khaleel. I was worried about my milk supply dipping and I did not know whether I could be able to go without eating during the day. But, Alhamdulillah, with Allah’s permission I managed to fast & breastfeed Khaleel throughout Ramadhan.
Before I knew it, we were already nearing Syawal !

First things first, Raya updates. πŸ™‚

This year Khaleel celebrated his first Syawal, our first as a family of four, Alhamdulillah.
We were in Batu Pahat on the first day of Raya, and Mr. Sunshine’s family chose peach as our theme colour this year. πŸ™‚

Raya Updates
With my in-laws. πŸ™‚

Mak (my MIL) decided to scratch rendang out of the Raya menu this year, so we had ayam ungkep (a Javanese dish), beef satay etc. As usual, after Raya prayers, we asked for forgiveness from everyone, and started to go beraya to a few of Mr. Sunshine’s uncles & aunts houses.

On the second day of Raya, we drove back to Gombak. My mission was to look for rendang ! Hehe.
Found my rendang at Aunty Maziey’s ! We managed to beraya at Akey’s house and a couple of my relatives houses as well. πŸ™‚

Another one with my uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews & nieces at Abang Jai’s. πŸ™‚

Well, enough on Raya updates, I shall move on to share about Khaleel’s update for the past 5 months.
Whoa, I haven’t blogged for 5 Β months ! Hahaha.
I feel so bad because I used to blog on Khayla’s updates pretty frequently when she was a baby. πŸ™

Anyway, here goes..

4 months progress

Khaleel started to roll over both directions. The first thing he would do when he woke up was roll over, so we would always put pillows around him as barriers. He could grasp toys or things pretty well.
Had his first episode of diarrhea for about 5 days, and then started developing rashes all over his body. Brought him to a paediatrician which confirmed it was viral exanthem.

5 months progress

He recognizes when we call his name. He slowly started to crawl at 5.5 months. Had his first swim in a pool at Port Dickson. Hehe. He adores his sister, and gets easily amused by almost anything Khayla does. Hehe.

avillion port dickson
Khayla & Khaleel having a swim ! Hehe.

6 months progress

Started on solids at 6.5 months, has been eating quite well everyday. He started to be able to sit down without support.

7 months progress

He successfully learned how to get into a sitting position by pushing up from his stomach. He jabbers a lot. Hehe. His favourite thing to do is stand while holding on to something, and he started being able to pull himself up from sitting to standing.

Sayf Khaleel 8 months update 2
Khaleel trying to give me a heart attack by showing off that he can stand with only one hand supported. -_____-

8 months progress

Expresses his feelings by screaming, no actual words yet, still jabbers a lot. Starting to get very attached to me, sometimes to the extent of not wanting to go to his Ayah.
Alhamdulillah, so far he is still fully breastfed while on solids. I reallllyyy pray and hope I can breastfeed him until at least 1 year. Ameen !

I have been sending him to a babysitter for 5 months now and Alhamdulillah, so far so good.Β May Allah protect him at all times. May Allah make it easy for the babysitter to take care of him. Ameen ameen.

I hope I have covered all his milestones, until my next post, bye ! πŸ™‚

prayers for a better year.

Only one and a half months into the new Hijrah year and I am already struggling with my resolutions.
Sigh.
I must try harder, I must !

I can’t believe 2012 is going to end in a couple of days.
I figured I’d list down a revised version of my resolutions to remind me once again that I have to follow through ! So here’s my revised 1434H resolutions list a.k.a my 2013 resolutions:

  1. Not to miss my daily prayers and try to pray on time whenever I can. This is a constant struggle for me, isk isk.
  2. Try to cover my aurah properly – make sure my chest, neck, butt and arms are fully covered, buy and wear more long skirts/dresses/loose pants instead of jeans or form-fitting pants. Constant struggle too, isk isk.
  3. Try to read at least one page of the Qur’an a day.
  4. Strive to be a better wife, Mummy, daughter, sister, friend and worker. InshaAllah.
  5. Work out a minimum of three times a week. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays perhaps ?
  6. Cut down on fast foods, junk food and carbonated beverages. I can already see Mr. Sunshine rolling his eyes. Hehe.
  7. Keep on sharing the goodness of Shaklee with everyone ! πŸ™‚

I think that should do it. InshaAllah.

I’ve been really bad on updating this space, since becoming a Mummy. Hehe. I think I’m gonna go ahead and summarize a few happenings around November and December.

I met up with my BFF (always wanted to write that in a post, I feel like Paris Hilton already !) of 14 years – who is 7 months (now 8) pregnant – after a looong time ! Alhamdulillah, I am ecstatic for her and I can’t wait for her to give birth to Khayla’s ‘cousin’. InshaAllah. πŸ™‚

Love you !

Another best friend of mine lost her mum to cancer last week. Inalillah. :'(
It’s heartbreaking that I can’t be there for her as much as I want to.

Picture taken when we paid a visit to Annisa’s mum before she passed away.

Marlene had her diploma convocation early this month. Woot ! Alhamdulillah, congratulations little sister ! I only have two pictures with me, the rest are with Marc.

Mr. Sunshine and I took leave to go to the Big Bad Wolf Sale. I had to miss the previous sales because we were in Terengganu. We went on the first day of the sale and went on a book shopping frenzy ! I had to resist the urge to go again and again.

The damage.
Two very happy shoppers !

I passed my induction. Alhamdulillah.

I was on medical leave for two weeks due to conjunctivitis. Isk isk. Wasn’t a comfortable experience, but I’m grateful to be cured now. Alhamdulillah.

We spent Christmas afternoon at Aunt Thelma & Charlotte’s like every year with pie, devil curry and good company of relatives. No turkey though this year, hehe. We had to leave early to attend Mr. Sunshine’s friend’s wedding. Isk. I think next year we should be there a little later so that we can meet all of our relatives who are usually present. Please note that my eyes aren’t fully recovered yet in these photos. Hee.

Auntie Marlene helped open Khayla’s present from her grandaunts. πŸ™‚

Khayla with grandaunt Thelma (arwah Mummy’s cousin).

Me holding Faizal & Dee’s adorable little Rauf ! My eyes were still slightly swollen that day.
Second cousins, Marlene & Faira holding third cousins Rauf & Dian Khayla. πŸ™‚

That same night, Mr. Sunshine and I treated the whole family to dinner & dessert at Swensen’s. This was to celebrate Marc’s belated birthday (he turned 26 a month ago, haha) and Marlene’s graduation. πŸ™‚

Pretty sister and I. Ugh my eyes !
Mr. Sunshine and I. Ugh my eyessss !
Daddy Candy !
This was the beginning of a drama in which Khayla cried her lungs out because she didn’t want to get in the car with her Mummy and Ayah. She wanted to stay with her Auntie Linn !

I think I’ve pretty much summed up my November and December.

Ok bye.

sniffs no more.

Currently feeling: Breathless
Currently listening to: Nothing

*Sniff sniff*
Eh, no mucus.
*Sniiffff snifffffff*
Still none.
*Blows nose*
Nothing !

Hoooyyeaaahhhh !
Alhamdulillah.
Thank you Cetirizine and Loratadine (plus pseudoephedrine) !

The doctor I went to last night referred me to the ENT clinic, and when I asked him when should I go, he replied, “Bila you rasa you dah betul betul give up”.
On medications I suppose.
But funny lah his response.

Back to work tomorrow.
Yikes.

From now on, I vow to answer “Work is okay.” to everyone who asks me about work no matter how bad it gets. Oh boy, I’d be lying a whole lot after this.
I shall try to resist talking too much about it though, because then it’ll just dampen what’s left of my spirits.
I am focusing on getting this phase over and done with !

Funny.
This must be the antihistamines talking.
I am never this positive.

Anywayyyyyyyy, there are 44 photos ahead, people.
Nope, I have not found my CS2 cd but I made do with my Elements.

First up, lunch with the Gombak people at Italiannies, The Curve. I can’t remember exactly when this took place. What I do remember is Navin just shaved his head, Gan had a secret relationship with one of our ex schoolmates, Kunasheela (kidding !) and some of us had a taste of a deceivingly yummy-looking cookie which actually tasted like plastic !

Macam gambar kelas, kan.

Ini awesome couple.

Ini pun awesome couple !

Next is Bryan’s pool partaayyyy at Pelangi Condo, Damansara !

Sexy lah tu konon saya posing macam itu. Hmph.

Drooling over the long (and hard ?) ‘E’.

We ran outta cups but it didn’t seem to stop them from getting refills.

The cake I did not get to taste. Sobs.

KLPac Open Day !

Bumped into Ann. Whee !

Along with Diana and Fira. *smiles*

The sister before she gave a kick ass performance of Alicia Keys’ No One.

Then there was a reunion with my high school best friends on CNY’s eve at Bora Ombak, Ampang. Such a lovely place.

Azi, Yati, Akey and Yusse.

The family CNY buffet steamboat dinner ! (I am aware that I am abusing the use of the exclamation marks)

Sotong disangka jagung. Hahahaha.

Daddy !

The sister who always looks hot even when eating.

Lunch at IKEA with the old Sis Sal.

CNY get together with my Gombak people.

Lene just got her bangs cut at that time.

HPJ Pharmacy Department’s Family Day at Desa Waterpark.

The kids’ games.

I could have scooped all those sweets in one go.

This was so physically challenging.

Hoyyeaaahhh !

My trip to Kuala Terengganu. *heart smiles*

Sekayu Waterfalls.

Yusse’s weddinnggg !! Tears were overflowing.

Awww…siggghhhh.

That was tiring.
Goodnight.
