they say time heals everything, but i’m still waiting.

Happy birthday Mummy.
You would be 60 if you were still around.
And tomorrow, it will be 4 years since you left us.
I miss you so much that it (literally) hurts, especially since it’s halfway through Ramadhan and Aidilfitri is just around the corner. :'(

This will be the fifth Aidilfitri we will be celebrating without you. I just can’t lie,but things will never be the same without you around.
Daddy misses you. He’s doing alright, but he’s alone for most parts of the day. I hope my transfer application will be approved as soon as possible so that I can be nearer to him. Ameen.
Marc’s doing good. He’s  a lot wiser now. You would be so proud of him, I know I am. He’s no longer naughty little Marc. 🙂
Marlene’s growing up to be a beautiful, smart and strong woman, just like you. She resembles you so much !
I am in the hands of a good man right now. Alhamdulillah.
It’s such a pity that he did not get to see how beautiful you were as a mother and a person.
I’m sure you would have loved him. He’s sweet and hilarious. 🙂
I have gained great new friends, and lost a few insignificant ones.
I have learned so much over these four years. Alhamdulillah.

There’s so much more that I want to tell you about.
I miss having you sit on the living room sofa and listen to me babble on and on.
Sometimes I have old videos with you in it on repeat just so I can listen to your voice.
I still cry myself to sleep at times, but Mr Sunshine is always there to the rescue. Alhamdulillah.

I miss you.
I miss you.

When I was little, every time I had the hiccups, Daddy would say to me, “That means you’re growing !”.
He said in such a way that it made me feel proud to be hiccuping. I’m growing, I’m growing !
I’m all grown up now and these days when I’ve got the hiccups, I still believe it’s a sign of me growing. Growing sideways, that is. Hehe.
Mr Sunshine and I are planning to buy food from the Ramadhan Bazaar here for tonight.
I’m in my lazy (and tired) mood so I won’t be cooking.

Don’t blame me, blame all the traveling the both of us have been doing in the past few days.
Terengganu – Batu Pahat, Batu Pahat – Terengganu, Terengganu – Seremban, Seremban -Terengganu.
Those states are not like an hour’s drive away ok.

But all is good because it’s already the end of the week and I have the whole weekend to (hopefully) have a good rest. 🙂

top of the world.

Good morning all.
I’m testing out this mobile blogging feature, I’m blogging from my phone ! I’m a bit slow and am easily amused when it comes to techy stuff. :p
I’m in Mr Sunshine’s hometown, Batu Pahat. The whole family’s here as my sisters in-law just got back too. 🙂
We’re all done with sahur, I had quite a lot to eat (considering I won’t be fasting). I have not started to fast yet this Ramadhan. Well, what do you expect if your menses start a day before the first day of Ramadhan, eh ?
Last night, mum in-law and I went through some videos of our Batu Pahat wedding kenduri. It felt as if everything happened just yesterday. We had a good laugh watching one of the videos in which Mr Sunshine and I were forced to dance along with the traditional dancers. Hehe.
The videos did bring back some ‘unwanted’ good memories though. I guess the dust has just settled and I am at the point where I am more sad than angry or hurt.
Don’t get me wrong, I have no regrets. I know this a phase I have to go through. And, life goes on whether I am on the top of the world or not. I am definitely not on the top of the world, but I know I’m getting there. :p
I have been spending my free time trying to finish Marian Keyes’ Anybody Out There which I bought ages ago n only started reading two nights ago. I wish I had a day all to myself, just to finish it.
Tomorrow we’ll be heading to Batu Pahat town for a baju Raya hunt !
I am going back to bed for a couple of hours now. Mr Sunshine has already dozed next to me.
Random note: My hair needs some serious TLC lah.

6 days and 6 nights.

Besides spending time at home talking and joking with Daddy and Marc and helping Daddy with the Streamyx troubleshooting (it turned out the modem was kaput already !), I filled my 6 days and 6 nights back in Gombak with:

1) Having lunch at KLCC with one of my best friends, Diana, who I have known since I was 12.

I love you and I am always here for you. We’re survivors ! 😉

2) Succumbing to these.

And these.

3) Enjoying a late night dinner, chat and dessert with Annisa at Dr Cafe, Solaris, Mont Kiara.

We were having so much fun, we did not realize it was almost midnight !

4) Gossiping with Putri over Chocolate Cream Chip and Mocha Latte Frapuccinos.

Thanks for the great time (and stories), dear ! ;D

5) Celebrated these special people’s birthdays

With a whole bunch of special people at Nando’s, Jaya One.

Felicia, I hope you don’t mind I stole this one from you !

You guys are beyond awesome ! I love you all.

6) Pouring my heart out to my best(est) friend, Akey.

It goes without saying that you’re one in a million, thank you for being there for me through all of this. You know I love you !

7) Devouring the King of Fruits.

With the loves of my life. 🙂

No matter what happens, blood is thicker than water.

All in all, I had an amazing time ! A few glitches here and there but I am still alive. Hehe.
I hope your weekend was as amazing as mine. 🙂

I’m currently waiting patiently for Mr Sunshine to come back home with food for me to berbuka with. 😀
Ok, tipu. Not patiently. My tummy’s growling so badly I feel embarrassed.
Habis kurang pahala puasa saya.
Ok bye.

my lazy friday.

I am having a blissful lazy Friday here in Gombak.
After back to back dates with friends over the past two days I have been back, I think I deserve a day just to stay at home with Daddy. ♥

I won’t be elaborating on my dates in this post because that will just defy the purpose of me having a lazy Friday.
In a later post, I guess.

I will tell you that Mr Sunshine is on the bus and he’ll be arriving real soon ! InshaAllah.
My heart’s racing like a little teenage girl about to go on a date with a guy she has a huge crush on. Hehe.
I hope we stay forever in love like this. Ameen. ;D

I’m gonna go lie down and watch some cartoons now.
Bye !

it takes two to tango.

Boy, am I exhausted !
Mr Sunshine and I just made it back from a night’s stay in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
We dropped by my very pregnant ex-colleague, Ina’s home, met up with Zana and Hannah (who were attending a course there), had super delicious tomyam, seafood and chicken dishes with them and did quite a bit of shopping at Wakaf Che Yeh, Rantau Panjang and Kota Bharu Mall.
And we did all that in 24 hours !
I feel so accomplished. Haha. :p

Mr Sunshine will have to be in Kelantan again for two nights starting tomorrow, this time in Jeli for work purposes.
Then he’ll be off to Pahang for a conference until Friday !
Crazy kan ?

Well, sayangkan isteri tinggal-tinggalkan eh ?

If I could meet the person who coined that phrase I would give him/her a good slap so that he/she would come to their senses and realize that’s total rubbish.
Sorry, angry wife speaking here.

But every cloud has a silver lining, but in my case the lining must be gold and beaded with diamonds because I am going home baby !!
My flight is on Tuesday night (after Mr Sunshine gets back from Jeli) and am currently trying to fit in getting together with friends that I miss so much (yes, you !) in my schedule without having to leave Daddy alone for long hours and without having to miss my best friend’s wedding which is happening this coming weekend !
I have sooo many people to meet !!
Ok that’s too many exclamation marks in a paragraph.
But I am so excited lah !!

Although, through all the excitement, there have also been a couple of saddening situations I had to endure the past two days.
I am sore and (heart)broken that I can’t even cry that much, and that’s definitely not normal for me.
I hate not being able to cry because then I will end up feeling like there’s a huge brick on my chest and no matter how hard I try I can’t get the bloody brick off.
Imagine having all those emotions rolled up into one.

I love Mr Sunshine for sticking with me through all of this. Alhamdulillah.

But I am still excited about going home !
Daddy I miss youuuuuu !

I should get to bed, I have work tomorrow.
Goodnight !

I just got off the phone with Daddy, he’s been having lower back pains. :'(

He said, “Surprisingly my knees do not hurt now, main passing passing pulak sakit ini.”

I miss Daddy. 🙁
I want to be home.

i need a break.

Good morning.
I am on leave today.
I’m supposed to drive Mr Sunshine to his office later as he will be leaving to KL for some work, but he managed to persuade his office mates to pick him up here instead.
Hence, I have the whole day off, and I had planned to sleep it off.

But here I am, unable to go back to bed after waking up at 0630 hours just now.
My eyes are tired but my brain just wants to stay active (?).

I just put our clothes to wash. Had some biscuits for breakfast.
Next, I am gonna pack Mr Sunshine’s clothes for his work trip.
I will be left alone for two nights (cue sad awwwww, thanks).
It’s a good thing I would be working, on this weekend (again) too.
I guess that would distract me a bit from feeling all depressed and lonely.

Anyway, my in-laws (excluding Angah) got on an 8-hour bus ride to come over and visit Mr Sunshine and I last Friday night.
They reached here very very early on Saturday morning and their bus ride back to Batu Pahat was on Sunday night, so we had only two days to entertain them.
Terengganu is getting pretty boring to us by now, well at least to me it is, so we were lacking in ideas on where to bring them.
In the end we brought them to Pasar Payang that day after lunch.
My mother in-law wanted to look for a new telekung, and my father in-law wanted to look for a batik shirt. Both of them managed to get what they wanted, with much bargaining. :p
We wanted to have keropok lekor at Bukit Tok Beng but it was closed already that evening, so we had them at Losong instead.

We had lunch and dinner at home but despite it being my home, my mother in-law cooked and I helped. Hehe.
On Sunday after having Nasi Kerabu for breakfast, we headed to Kenyir Lake.
We took a boat ride around the lake, similar to what we did when my family came over, but this time we paid extra for a one-hour stop at Saok Waterfalls and Taman Herba.

We had a distasteful lunch at one of the stalls by the lake. I need to remind myself never to dine there again.
We dropped by an old friend of my mother in-law’s place in Kuala Berang on our way back home.
They were best friends before. It was so cute to watch how excited they were when they laid eyes on each other !
The rest of us just sat and listen, and stuffed ourselves with cakes and curry puffs, as they reminisce about the good times they shared. 😀

Before we knew it, it was already time for us to leave for Kuala Terengganu, as Mr Sunshine had made steamboat dinner reservations at a restaurant in town. We made a stop at Pandak Beach, just to enjoy sunset. 🙂

The steamboat was very deliciously satisfying. The tomyam soup was super kaw !
Thank you sayang. 😉
And that was it, we drove to the bus stand and sent the in-laws off.
They must have been so exhausted, both my mother and father in-law had to go to work that Monday morning right after arriving. *gasps*

My back is hurting.
I’m gonna go lie down now. Bye !

daddy’s day.

My favourite quote from Daddy, “You will go to heaven for this.” 🙂

Happy Father’s Day to my father in-law in Batu Pahat, and to all the super dads around the globe. 😀
