Under The Coconut Shell

Hi. Hello. Assalamu’alaikum.

Yeah, yeah I know, it has been centuries since I last blogged.
It’s a good thing I still remember my password. Hehe.
I just got to approving some pending comments, will get to replying them, I am so sorry for not noticing your comments especially those who asked for the ibadah schedule from this 2015 post of mine ! InshaAllah I will find time to forward the schedule to you sisters. πŸ™‚

Anywayyyy, it’s 2017 ! It’s March of 2017 already !
Since my last post, I have started working in a new place (well, actually I started working there in June last year), Khayla turned five last year, Khaleel turned one last November, Mr. Sunshine is a few months away from completing his masters (ameen !), and I am 2 kilos away from my pre-pregnancy weight. Alhamdulillah.

Work has been hectic,Β stress-free stressful, but good, Alhamdulillah. I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn so many new things where I am now.

Khayla is going to enter primary school next year, InshaAllah. Can you believe it !?
I feel like I just wroteΒ about her birth yesterday. She is still my baby girllll ! πŸ™
Alhamdulillah she is doing well in her kindergarten, however she can be pretty talkative (I wonder who she takes after *rolls eyes*) which can get her into trouble sometimes. Hehe.

Khaleel started walking at 11 months, Alhamdulillah. He was fully breastfed until he was 1 year, and then I started supplementing with formula at the sitter’s. He still breastfeeds when he is at home. I’m planning to write a separate post on that. Oh Allah, please allow me to have time & inspiration to write that post within this year ! Ameen, haha.
There are times I feel like I am being unfair with Khaleel as when I had Khayla, I wrote a number of posts about her monthly milestones. But it didn’t happen with Khaleel.

Khaleel, when you read this, it’s not because Mummy loves you less, it’s because Mummy was busy nursing you and when Mummy wasn’t nursing you, Mummy was at work pumping milk for you. Hah !Β

Hehe.

So much has happened over the past year, it’s challenging to cram them all up in one post. And I won’t.

As I am writing this, I am thinking of going on a 7-day detox with Mr. Sunshine. We thought of starting tomorrow but we did not go grocery shopping today, plus I have a meeting on Tuesday which means there will be food and there might be a farewell party at the office which means there will beΒ more food, so yeah.

Excuses, excuses. Haha.

I shall update if we ever go on that detox thingy.

See y’all in my next post next year !
Bye !

xoxo

Sayf Khaleel – 8 Months Progress Report & Raya Updates

Assalamu’alaikum. Hellloouuu !
Selamat Hari Rayaaaaa !
I know am 2 weeks overdue but hey better late than never, huh ? Hee.

I hope your Ramadhan & Syawal has been splendid. πŸ™‚
I was really nervous about fasting this year as I was still exclusively breastfeeding Khaleel. I was worried about my milk supply dipping and I did not know whether I could be able to go without eating during the day. But, Alhamdulillah, with Allah’s permission I managed to fast & breastfeed Khaleel throughout Ramadhan.
Before I knew it, we were already nearing Syawal !

First things first, Raya updates. πŸ™‚

This year Khaleel celebrated his first Syawal, our first as a family of four, Alhamdulillah.
We were in Batu Pahat on the first day of Raya, and Mr. Sunshine’s family chose peach as our theme colour this year. πŸ™‚

Raya Updates
With my in-laws. πŸ™‚

Mak (my MIL) decided to scratch rendang out of the Raya menu this year, so we had ayam ungkep (a Javanese dish), beef satay etc. As usual, after Raya prayers, we asked for forgiveness from everyone, and started to go beraya to a few of Mr. Sunshine’s uncles & aunts houses.

On the second day of Raya, we drove back to Gombak. My mission was to look for rendang ! Hehe.
Found my rendang at Aunty Maziey’s ! We managed to beraya at Akey’s house and a couple of my relatives houses as well. πŸ™‚

Raya Updates 2

Another one with my uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews & nieces at Abang Jai’s. πŸ™‚

Well, enough on Raya updates, I shall move on to share about Khaleel’s update for the past 5 months.
Whoa, I haven’t blogged for 5 Β months ! Hahaha.
I feel so bad because I used to blog on Khayla’s updates pretty frequently when she was a baby. πŸ™

Anyway, here goes..

4 months progress

Khaleel started to roll over both directions. The first thing he would do when he woke up was roll over, so we would always put pillows around him as barriers. He could grasp toys or things pretty well.
Had his first episode of diarrhea for about 5 days, and then started developing rashes all over his body. Brought him to a paediatrician which confirmed it was viral exanthem.

5 months progress

He recognizes when we call his name. He slowly started to crawl at 5.5 months. Had his first swim in a pool at Port Dickson. Hehe. He adores his sister, and gets easily amused by almost anything Khayla does. Hehe.

6 months progress

Started on solids at 6.5 months, has been eating quite well everyday. He started to be able to sit down without support.

7 months progress

He successfully learned how to get into a sitting position by pushing up from his stomach. He jabbers a lot. Hehe. His favourite thing to do is stand while holding on to something, and he started being able to pull himself up from sitting to standing.

Khaleel trying to give me a heart attack by showing off that he can stand with only one hand supported. -_____-

8 months progress

Expresses his feelings by screaming, no actual words yet, still jabbers a lot. Starting to get very attached to me, sometimes to the extent of not wanting to go to his Ayah.
Alhamdulillah, so far he is still fully breastfed while on solids. I reallllyyy pray and hope I can breastfeed him until at least 1 year. Ameen !

I have been sending him to a babysitter for 5 months now and Alhamdulillah, so far so good.Β May Allah protect him at all times. May Allah make it easy for the babysitter to take care of him. Ameen ameen.

I hope I have covered all his milestones, until my next post, bye ! πŸ™‚

Sayf Khaleel – 3 months Progress Report

Alhamdulillah all praises to Allah, little Sayf is now almost 3 and a half months. πŸ™‚

He still takes short naps during the day and goes to bed at about 9 to 10-ish at night. His first sleep period would be around 3-4 hours, wakes up for his feed (he usually just fusses around with his eyes closed, waiting for his milk to be serve, hehe) and after that he goes back to sleep and wakes up on roughly an hourly basis.

He gets very excited when his Ayah holds him and play with him, and when he is with me, he ‘talks’ a lot. I guess he knows his parents very well already. Hehe. He is not stingy with his smiles and laughs and loves it when we play peek-a-boo with him πŸ™‚

His latest achievement once he hit 3 months was rolling over ! He perfected his roll within a week by rolling from lying on his back to his tummy. So far, he prefers rolling to his left side, and I am trying to coax him to foll the over on the other side as well.

While this new skill of his is awesome, it is also a sign that Mr. Sunshine and I (or whoever is around him) should be extra careful. He nearly rolled off his mattress yesterday !

Sikit lagi nak tergolek atas lantai tau !

He poops a lot, haha, but is spitting up much lesser these days. He would occasionally suck on his index finger or thumb to soothe himself.

This week, we are currently desperately looking for a babysitter for Khaleel. Please pray we everything goes smoothly for us. Thanks ! πŸ™‚

xoxo
