Easy Exercises in Pregnancy

Hi. 🙂
Today I would like to share this video I came across which focuses on easy exercises in pregnancy. These are a few moves pregnant women can do to hopefully ease labour, InshaAllah.
Being pregnant does not mean that you should stay away from moving your body (well unless your healthcare provider advises you against it). And yes, please get advice from your doctor before doing any of these moves. 🙂

In a nutshell, these are the moves we can try to do at home:
1. Walk daily
2. Sitting – a great way to get pelvis forward is sitting on an exercise ball/gym ball/pregnancy ball/birthing ball, whatever you want to call it. Hehe.
3. Leaning – this movement uses the same forward momentum, we can lean on a ball, chair etc.
4. Pelvic rocks – get on all fours, arch back and come back to neutral position.
5. Butterflies – put soles together, rock knees and thighs up and down
6. Forward Leaning Inversion – using a bed or couch, keep knees on them, walk hands down, stay on elbow (like we’re planking), stick butt high up. We can do this once a day for not more than 30 seconds
7. Squatting

I have to be honest that I have only tried numbers 1, 2 & 7. Hehe. But I shall try the rest soon. Hee.

Happy moving everybody !

First Pregnancy vs Second Pregnancy

Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah for the fact that I am nearing the end of my second trimester.

I want to share about what has been different so far in this pregnancy compared to when I was preggers with Khayla.
To start off, here is a photo comparison of me in 2011 and me now. Hehe.

first pregnancy vs second pregnancy

I have been receiving comments about how my tummy is small, or how I do not look preggers, or “Tak nampak pun perut.” because I have either been posting photos of myself from the chest up or I have been posing ‘smartly’ while camouflaging the lower half of my body (haha), so there you are, my obviously protruding belly. :-p

What has been different (or similar) so far ?

1) Pregnancy Acne
This has been by far the most significant difference I am (STILL) experiencing. Yes, I did break out when I was pregnant with Khayla, but only during the first few months. But this time around it started out with spots all over my chin and cheeks then the spots on my chin started to disappear leaving the ones on my cheeks. Pfft, I don’t geddit, the chin ones should have brought their cheek friends with them ! Isk isk.
Currently I have two huge zits on my left cheek and a few red pimple scars.
Khayla never fails to remind about the fact that I am plagued with pregnancy acne, it even came to a point where she cried begging me to go back to ‘who’ I was before, “masa Mummy takde jerawat”. Sampai hatiiiii Khaylaaaaa !

2) Nausea & vomiting
Less vomiting this time around although I still get nauseous. Even during my first trimester, I only had terrible nausea but without the incessant vomiting. However, I still get heartburns and I have a lot of gas similar to my first pregnancy.

3) Cravings
I notice I crave more sweet stuff now. As it is, I already have a huge sweet tooth, the pregnancy has made it even more worse (excuses sangat !). During my first pregnancy, I craved EVERYTHING from sweet to savoury. Hehe.

4) Mood swings
Less mood swings so far as compared to when I was carrying Khayla. I haven’t cried over not being able to find my blender’s stirrer like I did before, haha. But I am still slightly more emotional than usual. Merajuk sokmo dengan Mr Sunshine. :-p

5) Weight Gain
I have gained less weight so far. I gained 16 kilograms altogether during my first pregnancy and when I was 28 weeks, I had already gained about 12-13 kgs. I am currently about 10-11 kgs heavier. I know it’s just a mere 2 kgs, but trust me, it does make (or shall I say, show) a difference.

Of course, as with both pregnancies, I still pee 23546748917 times a day. Hee.

My gynae told me to treat every pregnancy like it is a new one, because there will be new or different levels of hormones created. 🙂

Alhamdulillah.

Thanks for reading everyone, do pray for me and baby. Thank you so much. 🙂
